Venture Partner – Early-Stage Venture Capital (New York, NY / Remote)

Who We Are Looking For

Sigma Equity Partners is seeking a Venture Partner to join our growing network and help drive high-quality deal flow into our fund. This is a success-based, carry-only opportunity — ideal for someone with a strong founder or operator network who wants upside participation and is excited to help shape the investment pipeline of a high-conviction early-stage venture firm.

Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing: Leverage your network of founders, accelerators, and operators to surface exceptional early-stage companies aligned with Sigma’s thesis.

  • Investment Diligence: Collaborate with the GP to assess fit, support diligence, and refine our conviction on the best opportunities.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Managing Partner to co-develop thematic sourcing strategies and identify new verticals.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate ongoing relationships with ecosystem players, co-investors, and startup communities.

  • Thought Leadership: Represent Sigma at industry events, panels, or digital platforms to build visibility and trust.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to identify high-quality startups at the pre-seed or seed stage.

  • Strong founder/operator/investor network in relevant verticals (AI, SaaS, cloud, fintech, healthtech).

  • Deep understanding of early-stage investing, product-market fit, and go-to-market dynamics.

  • Excellent judgment, communication, and founder-facing empathy.

  • Comfort operating independently and remotely in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years as a founder, operator, investor, or startup advisor.

  • Prior venture or angel investing experience is a plus but not required.
